The woman behind the lens

hi, my name
is melina

For over a decade, I've refined my skills as a photographer, crafting timeless images that resonate with my clients. MELOURRA embodies a world of art, emotions and nostalgia - capturing vibrant moments of life.

Splitting my time between Vienna, Austria and Zurich, Switzerland, I'm grateful for the chance to work from two of Europe's most beautiful cities. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge with young creatives and photographers, inspiring others to embark on the same career path that has brought me so much fulfillment over the last 10 years.

FAQ.

  • I think Melina is an open-minded, young adult, who turned her passion to a full-time job at a very young age. I am a person that is always on the hunt for the next adventure, sleeping little, living much, loving deeply, laughing truly. I am a family & friends person and I try to coordinate my different jobs & travels but also enjoy time at home.

MELOURRA is the professional business lady you see on the other side. I hope to inspire with my account and make people fall in love with photography more every day. I’ve had many doubts about my career at the beginning. But with patience and hard work, I was able to develop my own brand MELOURRA. I am very proud where my journey has taken me today. I am looking forward for everything that is yet to come.

  • The ability to make people rediscover their own beauty. All our lives are so fast and rushed. It is nice to pause moments with photography and make them live a little longer. Additionally, I knew that creativity and flexibility were essentials for my career path. That’s why I chose the most creative Bachelor’s degree in Vienna: Advertising.

  • An Indie French movie with a storyline on wild adventures, raw emotions and the beauty of being outside. Wild, free, sad, joyful. Whatever feels right for you.

  • No. I barely show my face or personol life on @melourra. I try to separate Melina and MELOURRA a lot. However, I love to use my reach to educate about the creative industry, about becoming a photographer and finding love in this beautiful job. If you see it that way, yes I love to influence people and inspire my followers.

  • I think it’s the teamwork that makes my shoots special. I try to do more than just pressing a shutter. My photoshoots stand out due to their individual adaptations based on the person in front of my camera. During your booking, we’re a team. We plan your outfits, the locations, our moodboard. You can expect direct instructions also if you are not experienced in front of the camera. It’s such a fun and sweet experience!

  • Definitely the destination wedding in Kenya, Africa. 4 days of wildlife, love, visiting tribes, learning about culture. I love to travel authentically and that work / experience combination has been unforgettable. See here: Kenya.

  • I would say no. I have friends who studied photography at the Graphische in Wien and have acquired extensive technical knowledge. However, my approach to photography is more intuitive, focusing on capturing moments, directing light and creating poses. While you can learn camera settings in workshops and videos, finding your own vision and style is a more personal journey. What has truly helped me is my background in economics and accounting, which are crucial skills when running your own photography business.

  • I'm a devoted ketchup fan—I even add it to pizza at restaurants (waiters don’t approve!). Occasionally, they refuse my request, leaving me to wonder if carrying a mini ketchup bottle on my keychain for emergencies would be too much?
